Nathan and I met at Baptist Bible College through enrolling in the same Public Speaking class. Although I knew his name (and he probably forgot mine), we were merely classmates who saw each other only during class and spoke a rare "hello".I recognized Nathan's speaking ability throughout the course of this class and knew in my heart that God was going to use him in a special way. Because we were both dating other people at the time, I refused to admit that Nathan had the attributes of the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. After the semester of Public Speaking ended we only saw each other in chapel, which was held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
It wasn't until the next semester, when Nathan joined my home church, that we began seeing each other on a weekly basis and communication became more frequent. Nathan joined the church with his best friend, Jared, and quickly became active serving in the youth group. Every Sunday we sat on the same pew and Nathan would ask me "Do you have any gum?" (After we were married, I found out this was his way of striking up a conversation.) After a few weeks of this, Nathan seemed to always be on my mind and I found myself wanting to be around him more and more.
When Nathan graduated from BBC, I was still a Junior. Our dating relationship turned into long distance, with a few trips down to Texas and a few trips up to Missouri to help keep us from going insane! It was only 7 short months of dating until Nathan proposed to me (that is a whole other story)! We were engaged on December 3, 2010 and set our wedding date for May 21, 2011. The next five months proved to be very busy! Nathan had accepted a youth pastor position in Dalhart, Texas while I was finishing up my last semester of college. Needless to say, I graduated on May 14th and we were married on the 21st!

We've been married nearly 6 years now, and our lives have changed so much! Our daughter, Hannah, was born last July. We love her more than words can describe. I've taken a break from teaching to be a stay-at-home momma.
We've moved around A LOT in the past 6 years, but we are currently living in Weatherford, Texas where Nathan is the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. We adore our church and our city!
I'm not an expert in anything except for my own experiences. I hope to encourage you in your daily life and walk with Christ through sharing mine!
Love and prayers to each of you,
Marissa
